This semester we focused on actual marine life. We did a whole bunch of dissections, starting in the 3rd quarter with clams, earthworms, crawfish, starfish, and squid. We also did a whole bunch of coloring like always. But we did more dissections than coloring so its cool. The dissections help to put the organism in a big picture, you can see in what ways its similar to the human body and in what ways its different. You can also easily tell the differences in the orders and classes thought their internal body.
In the 4th quarter we focused mostly on sharks. We dissected a few, and we also got to dissect a frog and a hagfish. Once again we got to compare the internal anatomy with our own knowledge of human bodies. We also watched a lot of shark week and other shark videos. This quarter we also made the switch from invertebrates to vertebrates which was both interesting and insightful. To me vertebrates were much more interesting because they were bigger and more like humans. However the invertebrates were usually gnarlier looking.
This year was a baaalllllllllllllllllllliinnn year in this class ms green. I couldnt have asked for a more perfect class, thanks for all the fun and knowledge and laughs. love yaaaaaaa!
